WhiteNoise drains battery on Iphone

Postby TraceyT » Wed Sep 22, 2010 4:57 am

I've enjoyed using WhiteNoise on flights, but was really disappointed to use it the past two nights on the timer for sleep. I had it set so that after the period of time I chose it was supposed to "Exit Application." When I went to bed the battery was showing at 85% full. I had even enable the airplane mode settings so that the phone wouldn't be getting texts, trying to access wi-fi or 3G, and didn't have any other apps that I could see running in the background. The alarm on the phone never went off this morning, and when I checked it, the phone was completely drained. Had to charge it while I got ready for work. The same thing happened the night before.

What's wrong? I have an Iphone 3G, and am running 4.0 OS on the phone; the app is 4.0.5. If this is a routine problem without a fix, the appl isn't particularly useful. I don't want to listen to it before I got to bed and then turn it off before I fall asleep. That's the whole point ...

Make sure your iPhone 3G has the latest iOS version. We also have determined that the LED view takes more CPU than it should and are putting up a fix. Make sure auto sleep set to off and you engage screen lock as a work around. Cheers

Tips on draining iPhone 3G battery in minimum amount of time. All you have to do:

Turn on 3G.
Turn on Bluetooth and connect to a headset.
Turn Wi-Fi and “Ask to Join Networks” on.
Play music through built-in speaker.
Open Maps, and use the “Locate Me” feature using GPS. Leave the iPhone using that apps.
Turn screen brightness to maximum.
Set the iPhone not to lock.
Set the email to push and minimum of 15 minute interval.
Turn anything else you can find on.
Most likely the battery will drain within 90 minutes or less.

OK, that was somewhat pointless, but now I know not to do that anymore.
