White Noise for Blackberry Issue..

Postby lievrouw » Tue Aug 11, 2009 5:03 pm

I recently purchased White Noise from the Blackberry App World. It installed just fine and it runs properly too. My issue is this: While it is running I cannot use my phones alarm function. It shows an on screen notification of the alarm but nothing audible, negating its usefulness completely. This is a huge problem and makes the application worthless to me; as it helps me fall asleep at night but then makes impossible for me to wake up! I have sent two emails to support about this asking for a refund and have not received any response back as of yet. I am now posting in the forum as it is my last resort. Either fix this bug or give me a refund.

The latest version of White Noise 2.0 should solve any issues by using the timer feature to shutdown playback. Cheers, Todd

Can't upgrade my copy of White Noise

Postby gtrguy » Wed Oct 21, 2009 6:48 pm

I purchased White Noise 1.0 through Blackberry App World. I recently received a message that I could upgrade to ver. 2.0. However, when I try to upgrade through App World, as soon as it says "starting download", I get a message that says "White Noise is not available for download through App World". I have updated the App World application to its latest version and the problem persists. I can't find anything under Blackberry support dealing with this issue. Is there a way for me to upgrade without going through App World?

White Noise 3.0 was just posted. Version 2.0 should have solved the alarm issue but please let us know. If App World is failing to allow downloads you have to contact RIM support. Most likely you have an outdated App World and you just have to reinstall using the latest version. Cheers, Todd

Unable to upgrade to v3

Postby RedRover » Sat Dec 05, 2009 9:31 pm

I'm having the same problem trying to upgrade to version 3. I have the latest version of App World, but still get the message, "White Noise is not available for download form App World"

Please advise.

Please contact RIM support in order to get assistance. They handle upgrades, downloads, payments, etc... Here is their support link:

If everyone could provide the type of phone you have, version of App World, and the version of White Noise you are upgrading from it might help. I would still send BlackBerry a support ticket on this but if we can collect enough information we can pass it along as well. Thanks, Todd

Fix for 3.0 upgrade issue

Postby Peripheral » Mon Dec 14, 2009 2:37 pm

I also posted this in another thread.

I figured out how to get the 3.0 version to download. I kep getting the "white noise is not available for download from App World" error message. I finally tried logging into Paypal before trying to download the upgrade. Worked like a charm.
From the My World screen, you press the blackberry button and then select Log In. Log into your Paypal account and then voila!
