WhiteNoise 4.9.4 for iOS - Timer Problems

I am unsure of what precipitated the problem (application update, OS update or something else), but the timer (I only have one set) no longer auto-starts. Also, the application does not exit when the time expires and often just continues running (sound included) until morning. Please advise.
