White Noise as background app?

Hi. I'm brand new to Android (and smartphones), so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question.

I downloaded White Noise a few days ago and had it running in the background as I slept, while I activated a separate digital clock app to run in the foreground. But I tried doing the same thing last night, and every time I navigated away from White Noise, it stopped. Was it just a fluke that I got both apps to work simultaneously the first time? Is there a setting I need to use or adjust to make White Noise keep running? I tried the timer, but that didn't help.

I have a Dell Streak, running Android 1.6. Thanks for your help.

Are you running White Noise Lite or White Noise?

White Noise has the ability to run in the background if it is enabled. After launching White Noise, hit the menu button, click settings, and make sure the "Background Audio" check box is checked. At this point White Noise should run in the background allowing you to do other things.

White Noise Lite doesn't currently support running in the background.
