White Noise 1 Problem

Postby curving_edge » Wed Feb 03, 2010 12:40 am

I have a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 and have downloaded the White Noise 1 from Windows Marketplace.

Before the new update, I could use this app while sleeping. But now, since the update, everytime my phone's screen powers off to save battery, the White Noise app decides to shut off.

I have also tried clicking the 'play in background'. Again, while the device goes into screen saver mode, the app turns off with it!

I love having this app play while I sleep and no longer can use it even after paying good money for it. It seems the update made it unusable on my phone.

I have also called HTC and they said you cannot turn off the screen power off feature because of accidental calling or purusing through your files while in pocket.

Please help or give me the old updated version!

Thanks for you time, Derek.

Hi Derek, this is very puzzling as prior versions did not run in the background. Only since v1.2 has running in the background been possible. If you navigate away from the application does the sound continue to play? What happens when you use the media player and the screen times out? It sounds like your phone may be doing more than just blanking the screen, perhaps they forcing audio to stop playing too?

When the previous version of the app, the screen times out and the sound continues to play. I liked that alot. But with the new update, when the screen times out, all sound stops. If i continue to use the app and run other programs it will still play the sound untill the screen goes to screen saver mode.

Very wierd, there hasn't been any updates for my Sprint Touch Pro 2. But maybe see, what your thoughts on it were.

Thanks for your time and reading.

We have tested White Noise on a few different windows mobile phones and never have seen the screen lock stop the audio. Does it happen immediately or does it take time? Does it happen with the media player?

Here are some ideas:

Check out the section on battery settings:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/ ... evice.mspx

Have you tried plugging in the phone to AC power?

Product support for HTC Touch Pro2 and forums can also be found here:

http://www.htc.com/us/support/touch-pro2-sprint/help/

Please let us know your results in regards to battery settings. That is the first thing I would check to make sure the device isn't going into a power saving mode.
