DATA use when using the White noise App for IPhone

Does the White noise App use data from the interner, or phone line to create the white noise, or is that feature built into the APP? My IPhone was using a lot of Data, and the people at ATT in the US said it was the White noise App that was using all the data. I thought the noise making feature was built into the App. Which is correct?

White Noise and White Noise Lite include all the sound samples so it does not download or stream any sound data. White Noise Lite does feature advertising which can consume a little data. Cheers, Todd

For a frequent user, how much data would you say the advertising for White Noise Lite consumes? Ever since I have been using it with my PBX Phone, my bill has gone up a noticeable amount. Could it be the app, or should I see if it may be my other habits? Thanks.

It does use days, and more than just a little bit. I just got a days use warning on my phone, and it playingshows that the white nose lite app used 167 MB of data in the last 3 weeks. I do sleep with it on, but this seems like a ridiculous amount of data for an app that is just playing one sound.
