run time with white noise lite

Postby pwnchstr » Tue Nov 01, 2011 5:08 am

I have an ipod touch 3g. IOS 5. Latest version of White Noise Lite as of this writing. This problem happened with IOS 4 also. I have two timers. one to start the sound after 30min, the other to stop the sound after 5 - 6 hours. The problem is that the sound stops about 1.5 hours. Is this a limitation of the Lite version? If so, why is it not documented as such? If not, what can I do to make it work as intended?

Currently, sounds, mixes, or music started from timers are treated as alarms. Alarms are set to run for a maximum of one hour to save battery life.

There is more information here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=534

ok, so how do i get it too work as described?
i want it to turn on after 30 min(when the tv goes to sleep) and to run for the next 6 hours until i am ready to wake up.
my purpose in this is to provide a noise floor to drown out incidentals so that i may sleep through the night.

Currently this is not available. We could modify White Noise one of these ways:

1. Add setting to disable alarm popups so alarms don't dismiss.
2. Modify play sound to not be treated as an alarm so it just comes on a and stays on.
3. Modify alarms to never dismiss (1 hour currently) which could drain your battery if you forget to turn it off.

Would like to hear your thoughts and others on what would be best.

Thanks,
Todd

I would like to see the 'play sound' modified not to be treated as an 'alarm'
have a separate 'alarm' choice created
have the 'play sound' default length be 1 hr with/without a warning about battery drain if modified.
Battery drain does affect me as I am plugged in at night to a power source

The latest version now supports this method and is not treated as an alarm. Instead you have "Music Alarm" and "Sound Alarm" selections.
